George Bush’s biggest whopper is pretending to be a conservative. He’s no such thing. He’s a reformed frat-boy drunkard turned born-again do-gooder. Today he’s possessed by all the reckless utopianism that such a wrenching conversion implies. The self-imposed restraints of his Christian faith should never be mistaken for conservative principles. Date: 2006-05-26 07:49 pm (UTC)Celibacy in schools is the last item on the problem of government wasteful spending in this country.
If Bush were a true conservative, as he claims to be, he would have reduced spending. Instead, he spent more than Clinton did. That's why the true republicans hate his ass. And that has little to do with religion.

Date: 2006-05-26 09:18 pm (UTC)you are funny, Honey.
who on earth told you that I support any of the initiatives that liberals want to spend money on? If i say that i am against wasting $$$ on stupid celibacy programs, this doesn't automatically imply that i support money initiatives that liberals are proposing.
the only thing is that i'd rather spend on public health and education system, cancer and AIDS reseach (and similar things) then "promoting democracy" in Iraq, drilling alaska, etc.
i am not for free medicine, but there are definite flaws in our current system that could be looked at.

Date: 2006-05-26 09:29 pm (UTC)as for $$$ spending, i think (and always thought) a lot of programs that both lefties and righties are spending on are stupid, anyway. the way i look at it is that i vote for those who propose the programs that seem less evil to me, that's all.
for instance, some "liberal" programs might be ridiculous, but they are not as evil as destroing hundreds of thousands of caribous in Alaska because of stupid oil.
you are a naturalist, you should understand me! :)
