Bill barring 'mom,' 'dad' from texts passes

The California state Senate today passed a bill that removes sex-specific terms such as "mom" and "dad" from textbooks and requires students to learn about the contributions homosexuals have made to society.

The bill, approved 22-15, would prevent textbooks, teaching materials, instruction and "school-sponsored activities" from reflecting adversely on anyone based on sexual orientation or actual or perceived gender.

LIBERALISM IS A MENTAL DISORDER!!!

Disorder indeed.

I'd like to know what our liberal friends (you know who you are) got to say about this nonsense.

LT, two wrongs dont make a right.

Unfortunately, the Republicans have completely sold out. This isn't new. Plus, during the last twenty years, the Republican party became "Party Of God" which is scary as hell. The original conservative ideas of low taxes, small government and enterpreneural freedom have been almost completely abandoned, and the country will pay for this dearly.

Having said this, the fact that "neo-con" crowd is full of shit doesn't make the above-mentioned issue any less idiotic, and as far as that particular issue is concerned, it is the liberals who are pushing the envelope.

Dont tell me that talking about "mom" and "dad" as something "offensive" or "discriminatory" is normal. It isn't.

This is an issue of common sense. And can't stand liberals for pushing this crap onto the country just as much as I can't stand "neo-cons" for pushing God and Creationism into the classroom.
