I'm sitting on а cover of a life raft built into the emergency exit. I can't sit in my coach seat for long, not with my legs. Come to think of it, this is probably the only time I am ever inconvenienced by my 190cm stature.
- Do you think the door will open? - I say.
- No, but the life raft might, - she parries, - and once it extends inside the cabin, people will not like that. You can sit here though, - she points to the flight attendant's slide-out seat.
Nice she is indeed. FA's seat has more leg room than I need, plus I am not flanked, as I am in my assigned space, by a gentleman one could fairly precisely describe as "an old English wanker".
We should be landing in two hours. I am hoping Allison is a fan of Belgian truffles since I had to go back home for them, having forgotten to put them in a bag this morning.
