Here's what I found in my car's warranty statement:

I wonder

a) how they qualify an act of God
b) has anyone ever been denied warranty service under this clause

Dude, it's a very common legal term. Pretty much any contract includes it in one way or another. Sometimes it's in English: "acts of God", some times in French: "force majeure". In Russian legal lingo the French version is used: "форс-мажор"

Dude, force majeure I understand.

That normally includes earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions, my dirty socks and what not. Those are what you may otherwise call "natural disasters and freak occurrences".

It's kinda weird to include the Almighty into a legal document provided his existence is not exactly universally accepted.

Unlike the existence of my dirty socks!
