Aug. 18th, 2011 07:33 amall is well that ends well. now rapidly flying back from Virginia to make at least half of the working day. for the first time in my flying career I have just been patted down, full body scanned and had my hands swabbed for explosives residue. they ain't joking here at Dulles ...
on the bright side saw some very pretty southern girls...remind me why the fuck do I live in New York? Right, the job...

Once before the gate, and the immediately after, as if we mystically could sneak a bomb in by moving ten feet. Never seen that shit before...
Pat-down is done professionally, but it's still weird. I'm guessing the full body scan showed metal on me (in the form of pocket zippers in the back), so the dude basically patted my ass, and my ass doesn't like to be patted "by anyone except Missis Wallace" (c). The dude then radioed to the mother ship "it's ok, just zippers", but decided to swab my hands for ER for good measure :)
