So why did Vincent use it meaning "idiot"?
Well, apparently it's all Bugs Bunny's fault. Ain't no kiddin' neither. American Heritage Dictionary lists the alternative meaning of nimrod as:
Vincent: Jules, you give that fucking nimrod fifteen hundred dollars and I'll shoot him on general principle.I have always wondered why nimrod. Nimrod was a biblical figure, the great-grandson of Noah, a big hunter (possibly of men) and supposedly the builder of the Tower of Babel.
