The right to bear arms

Looks like the Supreme Court may actually weigh in on the 2nd Amendment case for the first time since 1939. I most sincerely hope the Court will uphold the decision of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit that

concluded that it [the amendment - cw] protects an individual's right to firearms and struck down a Washington, D.C., ban on handguns.

I hope the Supreme Court has it in them to hand a victory to all the decent legal gun owners in this country, and to those like me who want to become one but can't because of the current legislation that disarms decent people in the face of armed criminals.

Having been on the business end of people trying to break down my door at 3.30am, I can't tell you just how much you need a weapon in a case like this, if only to cool heads.

We'll see how this one goes.
