Veto that crap!
Feb. 26th, 2008 05:13 pmNobody can accuse me of being a supporter of our current President, but this veto, should it come to it, would be one of the few things his administration has done right.
Say no to the damned assholes in Congress who want to pay for subprimeidiots "victims" with my money. And I'm glad the administration realizes just how dangerous it would be to the mortgage industry in this country to give bankruptcy judges the power to adjust mortgage terms - read interfere in a voluntary business contract.
A veto is indeed in order!
PS. Dear God, don't let Dems win the White House this fall...I dont want the same idiotic legal rubber stamping we had when Republicans held both the Executive and the Legislative branches to continue, with a different sign, under the new all-Democratic deal...the Executive and Legislative should be held by opposing sides...only then there is any hope of a balancing act, compromise and checking each other...

Look who's talking
Feb. 26th, 2008 11:21 pmThere is nothing more ironic than Madam Secretary Madeleine Albright talking about the world being a mess.
Nothing more frustrating than hearing her talk about diplomacy as such. Sorry. Being one of the principals responsible for the Kosovo independence disaster, she should really keep her mouth shut on the subject of poor judgment and creating a political mess.

Me lucky is
Feb. 26th, 2008 11:36 pmIt was indeed just the power supply. After having spent two hours carefully replacing the burnt-out stinky old one with a shiny new one, I discovered that no other devices were lost in this debacle. Motherboard reset a few settings but other than that it was a smooth ride. No hardware or data loss.
Let's hope the new power supply lasts...
