They (people who deliver the money - DM) are mostly ex-SAS and British or Australian. A lot are also South African.

Это же сколько денег уходит каждый раз, кроме собственно выкупа! Пиздец какой-то. Ну почему же нельзя нанять нормальную профессиональную охрану из тех же спецов из SAS, морпеха и т.д. - или на борту (дешевле), или отдельный корабль для сопровождения (намного дороже, но они не общаются и не пьют с командой) в опасных местах? Не на всех 9 месяцев рейса, опять же, а только для "узких мест" типа Horn Of Africa или Малаккского Пролива.
В чём логика судовладельцев и страховых компаний, ведь охрана намного дешевле?
