Couldn't have said it better myself
Jun. 4th, 2010 12:52 pmI was always of the opinion that all this climate change etc crap is just our own anthropocentric bullshit spilling over. We haven't seen a real glacier since 12000 BC, haven't been bombarded by a major meteor for tens of thousands of years (think Arizona - 50,000 BC), and surely we haven't seen insane shit like The Siberian or Deccan Traps volcanic activity, let alone the likes of The Great Permian Death or even the (much smaller) fabled K-T. We flourished during an extremely narrow window of relative stability in just about all fronts, and now we have grown so full of ourselves we think we matter in grand planetary scheme of things. I do think we ain't nothin' but dust rollin' about the Earth's crust, and it's just our frontal lobes that make us think we matter.
And then there was George Carlin :)
