Well, there you go folks.

JetBlue, after having lost my luggage with almost all my hiking gear  -- bag total to replace about $1450 -- on a direct (!) flight from San Diego to JFK in June, has finally offered me a whopping settlement of... (drums)...$390.25 (the quarter at the end is just awesome).

They have an awesome policy to require original receipts (!!!) for everything in the bag. Yep, those $300 Lowa hiking boots I bought in Jackson Hole Wyoming during our Yellowstone 2004 trip have that receipt attached to them. On top of that, they cound 10% depreciation per year for every item. Like REI, where I bought the replacement boots, would give a shit.

Long story short, I told them to go fuck themselves -- nobody in their right mind would accept a shitty settlement like that.

From what I hear
, with JetBlue you are better off flying with something you can actually carry in, cz boy their luggage people and policies suck. So take out extra insurance er something next time you think of placing anything of value in that check-in bag.

Anyone know of a class-action lawsuit against JetBlue? Cz I need me one of those...
