The US of A got fucked. Again.
Oct. 3rd, 2008 04:54 pmWell, our dear Congress has finally passed the 700B financial rescue bill.
We can debate its anti-capitalist smell till the cows come home, but even within the socialist margins of the rescue "effort" our lovely Congressmen have managed to fuck us over with tons and tons of pork.
You thought those were the important provisions of the bill that would improve the financial well-being of the nation they were debating? Sure. But in order to make those provisions "acceptable" they had to "sweeten" said bill (God, I hate Congress-speak).
And sweeten it they did. I counted 900 million dollars (over 10-15 years) in that article, and those are just the most outrageous ones.
Nothing changes. How can we ever expect anything to be different with these people in power? And fucking please dont say Obama.
Gonna go drinking tonight to mourn the passing of capitalism.
PS. And of course, of course: Reps. Barney Frank, D-Massachusetts, and Henry Waxman, D-California, plan to hold hearings to increase scrutiny of the financial system, Pelosi added. Oh, good ol' Barney.
PPS. BinLaden and all his goons have nothing compared to the power of US Government to destroy what's left of the country's basics.
PPPS. Bill Maher, back when he was actually funny, once called Congress soulless cash whores. 'nough said.
