Photo anger
Sep. 4th, 2006 11:22 pmMy D2X is officially screwed up.
Those who went on a JMT trip know that all the bright blue sky we saw and I had seemingly confirmed captured (as reported by my D2X preview/histogram LCD) turned out horribly dull, off color and sprinkled with white dots.
For the life of me I couldn't understand wtf was going on. Now I'm thinking it's the firmware upgrade to v1.01. But maybe not, cz people are not reporting any problems with it.
Today I did a controlled test. I went out with a tripod and took a series of same-exposure shots, increasing ISO from 100 to 3200 (and decreasing shutter speed accordingly), one with the polarizer and one without.
Both result sets sucked: same story all over. Bright blue sky and proper exposure reported by the camera's preview LCD has nothing to do with what I see in Photoshop Raw.
Sounds like a trip to Nikon service is in order, and I wanted to take the monster to Prague.
It seems like I will be going to Prague with my trusty old Nikon N80DX, film and all...and then do the slides...and scan them...f*ing sh*t, I thought I was done with this...
