Privacy, anyone?

In an attempt to revive a dead legislation against Internet child porn (killed two years ago in federal court for being too broad), our government has subpoenaed Google for "[...]the records, which include a request for 1 million random Web addresses and records of all Google searches from any one-week period."

Google is fighting back since it was never a part to the original Fed lawsuit and "the demand for information is overreaching". Basically, the feds want to get an uninvolved third party -- Google, that is -- to provide them with private data so they could proceed with their lawsuit.

Praise Google for fighting back. Given Google's coffers I doubt Justice Dept will get anywhere with this...
