Why is it that all really cool shows on TV get canceled for one reason or another?

"Sports Night", "Mind of a Married Man", "Deadwood", "Dead Like Me". Really cool shows with big ratings all of them. But something always gets in the way - egos, money, "creative differences".

I just found out that "Dead Like Me" was in fact canceled, and apparently a while ago. The show had such an interesting angle on life and was beautifully acted. And now it's done for. Well, they say they may bring it back to life on another network...I guess Showtime is only good for gay and lesbian material these days. That stuff runs on it for years.

Not to say there isn't anything at all -- at least "The Wire" on HBO is still alive, but most of the time if you want to watch something, you'll be stuck watching reruns of "Law and Order".

For all things bizarre and obscure do talk to me ;)

I did like the two seasons I saw as re-runs though.

i liked the scene where William H. Macy gives the speech about a dude who invented TV and his relative who said that he will learn to make glass tubes.

Funny thing about Sports Night: during a brief period of time when I had a cable, I watched about a season of this show on ESPN and really liked it. Btw, the guy who wrote it went on to write The West Wing.

+1
I missed it during the first run on ABC so I caught it later on Comedy Chanel or some other cable channel.
The show about sports - what's not to like? :)
