Talk about shooting one's self in the foot

It's been a while since I have seen idiocy of this magnitude, but you be the judge.

I have two agents scanning the job market for me. One sends me a job description I find interesting, and he sets up an interview. I ask who the manager is but all I can get is the top level guy whose name doesn't mean much to me. Then the other agent also sends me a job description at the same company I also find interesting, so I ask him for the manager's name so that I can find out via my channels what the group is like. Kind of my standard procedure.

I go to the interview setup by the first agent only to find out, to my utter surprise, that the manager of the group is the one the second agent mentioned to me, and that the two opportunities, although described completely differently, are in fact one and the same. I do the interview but leave with a feeling that what they do is not really that interesting to me.

I then tell second agent to keep looking, and this is what I get:
DM: John, let's keep looking.
John: Why?
DM: Boring.
John: You know nothing about it.
And then, without letting me explain, follows this pearl:
John: Sounds like you are not serious about moving which is OK. Stay there and be under paid as you are now or trust me and go out and meet a few people. This is about relationships and trust which I have built up with many people in my 10 years in this business. I like to work with good people and good people only. I don't need to work with everyone. If you are serious about career growth, give me a call. Thanks.

What a retard! I wonder how he managed to stay in this business with an attitude like this. If this was a feeble attempt to pull a reverse psychology thing on me, it failed miserably. My first reaction was to tell him he's a juvenile idiot, but then I thought - fuck him, I'll vote with my resume instead.

Well, good luck to Idiot John :)

PS. The first agent follows the drill well and we'll probably do business.

Yep, many of them are uneducated arseholes. God knows why it is so. I'm often surprised of their lack of professionalism and low-class manners.

At least he didn't curse you out....

...as one of my father's agents did when my Dad took a job through someone else. Actually, he did not *just* do that - the agent actually left my Dad a voicemail, saying "I know you're going to Company X. Muahahahaha! Well, fine, %&*&$*%, I hope you're happy there, you *$&%^#$%!"

Top that professionalism.
