Austria: A Good, but Long-Dead, Tenant

A Vienna landlord who used his key to enter an apartment after he did not get an answer to letters announcing a rent increase found the tenant dead, and for quite a while. The police believe the 93-year-old man, a former university professor described as a recluse, might have died three or four years ago. His rent continued to be paid automatically from his bank account, which was automatically replenished by his pension.
